Since I’ve recently started blogging, I should probably tell a little bit about myself. I really never know what to say, so I’m just going to make a list of my hobbies, the things I like/love to do.
Meditation — I try to meditate everyday. Meditation keeps me calm, relaxed, and focused.
Books — I love books. I love roaming the library stacks, just looking at the books on the shelves. I’ll just roam the aisles at Barnes & Noble looking at the books, no particular subject, just looking at the books.
Reading — This is a no-brainer since I love books. I thought I was an avid reader until I saw that there people who read consistently 3-5 books per week. I would read two books per weeks, maybe three, if any of the books I was reading was particularly good and interesting. I’ll read print/e-books and audiobooks.
Basketball — Pee Wee basketball, high school basketball, college basketball, and NBA basketball. I was watching the NCAA tournament, double overtime game of Kansas State and Xavier while I was in labor with my daughter. She was born just before the end of the game. That’s right I was watching basketball between contractions.
Football — While growing up, another neighborhood girl and myself would play football with the boys. I was a tomboy growing up. I played with the boys all year long — summer, spring, fall, and winter (yes, even in the snow). It drove my father absolutely crazy, but I loved it.
Photography — Who doesn’t enjoy an interesting photo? I love all types of photography: nature, objects, people. For my own photography, I’m only a point and shoot photographer, no special lenses or anything like that. I take pictures with my smart phone and my camera. If I find it fascinating, I’ll snap a photo.
Digital scrapbooking — This is a relatively new hobby that I’ve discovered. When I purchased my new laptop last year, it included Photoshop Elements and a free subscription to video classes for digital scrapbooking. It’s an excellent way to showcase my photos.
Notebooks — I collect notebooks. I’m always jotting down something: notes, thoughts, song lyrics, mantras, grocery lists, to do lists. Since I don’t like to have just a million pieces of paper everywhere, I’ll always keep a notebook with me.
Pens — I’m also a pen collector. If I’m going to have notebooks, I need to be able to write in them. Yes, I use pencils, but I prefer pens. You know how they give away pens at different job fairs or vendor fairs? Well, I’m the woman who’s walking away with the pens from the vendors.
Kindle — Yes, I have an Amazon Kindle Fire HD. I love it and it often travels with me. I used 1st generation Kindle Fire primarily as an ereader. I use my 2nd generation Kindle Fire HD much more. I generally keep my Kindle with me. It holds my books, both audio and e-book. I use it to keep my notes. I play games and listen to music.
